The annual Guiting Festival offers visitors the chance to enjoy live classical music in an idyllic Cotswold setting.

Held in the pretty Gloucestershire village of Guiting Power, the event has been a fixture of the local calendar for more than 40 years.

The 2011 edition will run from Friday July 22nd to Saturday July 30th, with a diverse collection of musicians due to perform.

This year's line-up includes Northumbrian pipes player Kathryn Tickell, the Navarra Quarter string ensemble, pianist Joanna MacGregor and award-winning cellist Alexander Chaushian.

MacGregor, who is also the festival president, is set to perform works by Samuel Barber, George Gershwin and Kurt Weill.

In addition, there will be an outdoor jazz concert featuring the music of Louis Armstrong and Fats Waller on Sunday July 24th.

All shows will take place at the Guiting Power Village Hall, with tickets priced at£12 for adults and £6 for children.

Music lovers planning to attend one of the performances can use the booking form provided on the festival website.

LateRooms.com offers a large number of Cotswold hotel options that could appeal to visitors, including the Tortworth Court Four Pillars Hotel.
