The internationally successful theatre production Avenue Q brings its devilish sense of humour and combination of actors and puppets to Bilbao this summer.

While the show looks as though it was inspired by Sesame Street, this is not a spectacle for kids, as themes such as sexuality, pornography and racism come up over the course of the performance.

Avenue Q adds musical elements and fun set designs to its sharp and witty script to create a hugely original and enjoyable production.

The original spectacle was conceived by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx, receiving enormous critical acclaim on Broadway and the West End. It has toured around South America, Australasia and Europe in recent years.

In many ways it is a coming-of-age parable regarding the anxiety that comes with the onset of adulthood.

It will be staged at Bilbao's Teatro Arriaga from August 12th to September 4th, with all shows starting in the evening between 19:00 and 23:30 local time.

Tickets start from €12 (£10.55) and are available online. There are also concessions on offer.
