The FIVB Volleyball International tournament will give fans the chance to see 24 countries battle it out for bragging rights in the sport.

Women's volleyball was one of the most popular events among London 2012 ticket applicants and this occasion offers enthusiasts the opportunity to enjoy their talents.

As it is classed as an intercontinental exhibition event, participating countries will not be able to improve their world rankings at the competition.

The tournament will take place from August 9th to 14th as part of the London Prepares programme, which involves world-class athletes competing in sessions specifically arranged to help with the organisation of next year's Olympic Games.

In a statement, the organisers explained: "The event will allow the London 2012 Organising Committee to test key aspects of its operations in preparation for next year's Games – including the field of play, timing and scoring technology, venue installation and workforce."

Tickets start from £15 and are available online. There will be two sessions each day at the Horse Guards Parade venue, with 54 matches taking place over the course of the six days.
