Iconic singer-songwriter Tori Amos will take the stage at Rome's Auditorium Parco della Musica later this year.

The star will be familiar to most music fans due to the mainstream success enjoyed by hits such as Professional Widow and Cornflake Girl, but her influence extends far beyond a clutch of catchy singles.

Her passionate live show saw her named by Rolling Stone magazine as the fifth-best performer of all time, while her edgy and individual image has inspired countless female singers over the past 20 years or so.

Amos's last studio album, Midwinter Graces, came out in 2009 and she is due to release a new record in September entitled Night of the Hunters.

Audiences in Rome can expect to hear plenty of material from the new album alongside her most famous hits, with the singer also well-known for performing interesting cover songs. Her version of Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit has proved to be an especially popular track among fans.

Tickets for the concert on October 8th start from €30 (£26.50) and Amos is due to begin her performance at 21:00 local time.
