Visitors to Seoul next month will be able to attend the annual Korea International Art Fair (KIAF), which is celebrating a landmark anniversary this year.

Taking place at Coex between September 22nd and 26th, the 2011 edition of KIAF will mark the tenth year since the inauguration of the event in 2002, since which time it has played a key role in boosting the region's art sector.

KIAF 2011 will feature 192 galleries from 17 countries and will showcase some of the most cutting-edge contemporary artworks from around the world, with various programmes highlighting the best of Korean art and culture.

This year, the guest country of the fair will be Australia, with 17 Australian galleries taking part to promote the high quality of modern art in the nation.

In 2010, the guest nation was the UK, with works by the likes of Damien Hirst, Gary Hume and Marc Quinn among those included.

Approximately 1,500 artists in total are expected to participate in KIAF 2011, with around 5,000 individual works to go on display.

Art lovers can browse a large selection of Seoul hotels at AsiaRooms.com, including the IP Boutique Hotel Itaewon.

More information about the festival can be found at kiaf.org/2011new/Eng/main.html.
