Some of the biggest names in urban music are heading to Brisbane later this month for the Winterbeatz festival.

Among the hip-hop stars on the bill are 50 Cent, who will perform with G-Unit, plus Grammy Award-winner Lil Kim, Fabolous and R'n'B singer Mario. Several local acts will also perform at the concert, which is set to take place at the Brisbane Riverstage on Saturday August 20th.

Fans will be treated to more than four hours of live music at the touring event, which is also due to call at Perth, Melbourne and Sydney.

Described by promoter Paperchase as "one of the most sought-after rappers in history", 50 Cent has sold over 36 million records worldwide and released eight top 20 singles in Australia, including Window Shopper, Ayo Technology and Outta Control.

As well as his music success, 50 Cent has launched an acting career, starring in the semi-autobiographical Get Rich or Die Tryin', Home of the Brave and Righteous Kill.

Tickets for the Brisbane gig are priced at AU$99 plus booking fees, although a spot in the Bling Ring - located closer to the stage - costs AU$139.
