The O2 World in Berlin is set to stage a concert by one of the world's biggest pop stars, George Michael.

Due to perform at the arena on Monday September 5th, the London-born singer is an icon of the music industry with more than 100 million album sales to his name.

Although Michael has attracted some unwelcome publicity due to his chaotic personal life in recent years, he remains a true giant of the pop world with legions of devoted fans across the globe.

His latest European tour, which will begin with a show at the State Opera House in Prague on August 22nd, is sure to remind people of the 48-year-old's star quality and exceptional performance skills.

Admirers of Michael will no doubt be hoping to hear classic hits such as Careless Whisper, Jesus to a Child, Faith, Freedom and Fastlove.

When details of the Symphonica tour were announced in May this year, the star said he will perform a selection of songs spanning his entire career, as well as covering some of his favourite tracks by other artists.

Michael will be backed by an orchestra during the shows, adding a fresh layer to songs that are familiar to millions of people.

"It's unmistakeably George Michael, but not as we've ever known him," a statement on his official website explained.

Ticket prices at the O2 World range from €66.50 to €126.50 (£58.10 and £110.60). The
show is due to begin at 20:00 local time.
