Award-winning musical Blood Brothers is heading to the Hall for Cornwall in Truro this summer.

Bill Kenwright's production will be staged at the south-west venue from Monday August 22nd to Saturday August 27th as part of its current UK tour.

Written by Willy Russell, Blood Brothers made its West End debut in 1983 and rapidly developed a cult following. As well as being a huge hit in London and at theatres across the UK, the musical has been performed successfully on Broadway and in Australia.

It tells the story of two twins who are separated at birth and go on to lead drastically different lives. However, fate conspires to bring the brothers together again after they both fall in love with the same girl, with tragic consequences.

Blood Brothers won the Olivier Award for best new musical in 1983 and remains highly popular with audiences, who are often held captivated by the emotional power of its devastating ending.

Tickets to see the show at the Hall for Cornwall are priced between £7 and £28.50.

Evening performances will begin at 19:30 BST, while the matinee shows on August 25th and August 27th are due to start at 15:00.
