Formula One (F1) fans will be flocking to Singapore when the Marina Bay Street Circuit plays host to its grand prix towards the end of next month.

Red Bull Racing driver Sebastien Vettel will be looking to extend his lead at the top of the drivers' championship by finishing first at the event, but he is likely to face stiff competition from team-mate Mark Webber, as well as Jenson Button, Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso.

Spanish star Alonso, who drives for Ferrari, took the spoils at last year's Singapore Grand Prix - beating Vettel by 0.2 seconds - and will no doubt be eager to repeat the achievement in 2011.

However, McLaren are arguably the form team in F1 at present, with Hamilton and Button winning the last two races in Germany and Hungary respectively.

Practice sessions are due to be held at the Marina Bay Street Circuit on Friday September 23rd, with qualifying set to get underway at 22:00 local time the following day. The race will commence at 20:00 on Sunday September 25th.

General admission tickets for the weekend are priced at £288.47.

Motorsports fans can use LateRooms.com.au to choose from a vast selection of Singapore hotels, such as the V Hotel Lavender and Changi Village Hotel.
