Prague will welcome the world-conquering musical Mamma Mia! later this year for a four-day run of shows.

Written by Catherine Johnson, the production is to be performed at the city's O2 Arena from September 22nd to 25th and will give ABBA fans the chance to enjoy all of their favourite hits, such as Take A Chance On Me, Super Trouper and Dancing Queen.

Mamma Mia was already a successful West End musical when a movie adaptation of the story starring Pierce Brosnan, Meryl Streep, Colin Firth and Amanda Sieyfried was released in 2008.

The film became the third-highest grossing motion picture domestically since 1974 and inspired renewed interest in the stage production.

"On the eve of her wedding, a daughter's quest to discover the identity of her father brings three men from her mother's past back to the island they last visited 20 years ago," explained the organisers in a statement.

Tickets start from 1,100 koruna (£39.60), with performances taking place at 19:30 local time every day and matinees at 14:30 on Saturday and Sunday.
