LateRooms.com - See Ian Anderson During a Cotswolds Stay

People staying in the Cotswolds may have a chance to see veteran rock musician Ian Anderson live in concert later this year.

The Jethro Tull frontman is due to bring his solo acoustic tour to the Gloucester Guildhall on Sunday September 4th, when he will present a mixture of classic tracks, fresh arrangements and new material.

Anderson is well known for playing the flute, with the trademark one-legged stance he adopts with the instrument now established as one of the most famous on-stage postures in the world of rock.

However, the Scottish musician is a talented multi-instrumentalist who can also embellish his performances with guitar, mandolin, bouzouki, harmonica and soprano saxophone.

One of the 63-year-old's most famous songs is Aqualung, the title track to Jethro Tull's fourth studio album from 1971.

For his show in Gloucester, Anderson will be joined by a band featuring virtuoso German guitarist Florian Opahle and pianist/accordionist John O'Hara.

Tickets for the gig are available to buy online, priced at £24. Doors at the venue will open at 19:30 BST.

LateRooms.com recommends a number of Cotswold hotel options that could appeal to concert-goers, including the Tortworth Court Four Pillars Hotel.

Visit www.gloucester.gov.uk/Freetime/Guildhall/home.aspx or contact the venue on 01452 503050 for more information on this event.
