The Olympic Adventure Camp (OAC) will offer young people the chance to experience new sports and exciting activities in Dusseldorf this summer.

Running at the Apollo-Platz from Saturday August 27th to Saturday September 3rd, the event provides youngsters with a dedicated space to enjoy climbing, trampolining, obstacle courses and much more.

The OAC, which has been taking place in the German city since 2004, is suitable for people between the ages of six and 21 years old.

It is held on the banks of the Rhine and features approximately 50 different activities in which visitors can participate. Each session is completely free of charge and there is no prior registration required.

Past editions of the OAC have offered youngsters the chance to get involved with traditional Olympic events such as basketball, judo and archery, as well as more unusual sports.

People heading to the camp this summer can expect to experience activities such as sumo wrestling, flag football and cross-boccia, which is an increasingly popular new version of the traditional European pastime boules.

Younger children will also find plenty to keep them occupied at the site, including mini trampolines and other toys.

The OAC will be open from 13:00 to 19:00 local time every day, starting from the launch date.

Families planning a Dusseldorf hotel reservation can use LateRooms.com to browse a wide range of accommodation in the area, including the Relexa Hotel Ratingen City.
