The West Australian Symphony Orchestra (WASO) will present their Big Sing concert in Perth at the start of September.

Billed by the organisers as a fun way to spend an afternoon singing along with the WASO Chorus, the show is scheduled to take place on Sunday September 4th at Perth Concert Hall.

The community event is open to people of all ages, regardless of whether they are trained vocalists or just keen to experience the joy of singing several popular choral works, led by WASO Chorus director Marilyn Phillips.

Admission is free, but advanced bookings are required and tickets are limited to four per customer. The concert, which is suitable for people aged 12 and over, is due to get underway at 13:30 local time.

As part of its 2011 season, the WASO will also stage The Big Sing in Bunbury on Sunday September 18th.

Established in 1928, the orchestra has grown to become the largest and busiest performing arts organisation in Australia, playing to more than 200,000 people every year.

As well as staging its own concerts, the WASO regularly performs with the West Australian Ballet and West Australian Opera.

Classical music lovers will find LateRooms.com.au recommends a vast selection of last minute accommodation in Perth.
