LateRooms.com.au - Watch Terrapin Puppet Theatre's Love in Hobart

Industry: Travel

Terrapin Puppet Theatre's (TPT's) latest stage show, Love, is set to embark on a brief run in Hobart next month.

Billed as a poetic journey through the "king of emotions", the production has been inspired by hundreds of stories collected from people at market stalls, on the internet and speaking on the radio.

Finegan Kruckemeyer's writing is given life by comedic songs, an impressive backdrop, innovative puppets and Terrapin's traditional penchant for silliness.

The show will take the stage as part of TPT's 30th anniversary celebrations. The company formed back in April 1981 from the ashes of the Tasmanian Puppet Theatre, which folded the previous year.

Since it was founded, the organisation has created several productions that have toured across Tasmania, Australia and further afield, including The Storyteller's Shadow: A Celebration of Hans Christian Andersen and Explosion Therapy.

The Hobart presentation of Love will be staged at the Theatre Royal on Campbell Street from Friday September 16th to Sunday September 18th.

Afternoon shows are due to get underway at 14:00 local time, while morning performances will be held at 11:00 on the Friday and Saturday.

Tickets range in price from AU$16 to AU$26 for adults and AU$12 to AU$16 for children.

LateRooms.com.au recommends a vast range of Hobart accommodation. Theatre-goers on a budget can use the website to choose from a huge selection of cheap accommodation in Hobart.
