Culinary enthusiasts will be heading to venues in and around Broadbeach next month for the Tastes of Gold Coast festival.

Running for 16 days, the event aims to celebrate the high calibre of food and drink producers, chefs and restaurants from the Gold Coast and the Hinterland region.

"As the name implies, it's a festival that's all about good old-fashioned fun and people enjoying themselves - a festival that perfectly compliments our superb weather and relaxed lifestyle," explained Gold Coast mayor Ron Clarke.

Tastes of Gold Coast 2011 is set to run from Saturday September 3rd to Sunday September 18th at venues throughout the area.

Among the highlights is Chefs of Surfers Paradise, which will feature live cooking demonstrations and food sampling. The showcase is scheduled to take place on the opening day from 11:00 local time at Cavill Mall and is free to attend.

From 18:30 to 20:30 on Tuesday September 6th, the Burleigh Brewing Company and Kirra Burger Lounge will team up for the Burger Lounge Beer Appreciation, presented by master griller Jason Steele.

Admission costs AU$25 per person, but booking is not required.

Lovers of fine dining will find a wide variety of Broadbeach accommodation at LateRooms.com.au, which recommends the Jupiter Hotel and Casino.

To find more details on the festival, head to www.tastesofgoldcoast.com.au/ or call (07) 3369 7299.
