AsiaRooms.com - Visit Floating Book Fair Aboard Logos Hope Near Kuala Lumpur

Released on: September 13, 2011, 10:16 am
Author: AsiaRooms Ltd
Industry: Travel

Kuala Lumpur holidaymakers can pay a visit to the ocean liner Logos Hope next month when it arrives in nearby Port Klang.

The ship, which is home to the largest floating book fair in the world, will be docked on the Malaysian coast between September 29th and October 23rd, offering visitors the chance to browse a selection of around 5,000 titles.

Books for all the family can be found among the collection aboard Logos Hope, with genres including science, sports, hobbies, cookery, economics, medicine and much more.

The collection is made up of books removed from circulation by publishers after newer editions were released, meaning the book fair can offer them for knock-down prices.

Logos Hope's mission is to travel the world spreading literacy and knowledge to poorer countries, with more than 40 million visitors having passed through since the 1970s.

This vessel was originally constructed in 1973 as a passenger car ferry under the name Gustav Vasa, before being purchased by the literacy-promoting organisation GBA Ships and renovated for its current purpose in 2004.

A wide selection of Kuala Lumpur hotels can be found by avid readers at AsiaRooms.com, including the Sunway Lagoon Resort Hotel.

More information about the event can be found at www.gbaships.org/in/malaysia/.
