Visitors to the Lake District next month will be able to enjoy a performance by the multitalented British humourist Tony Hawks.

The offbeat comic will be hosting a warmly comedic show as a fundraising event at the Brewery Arts Centre on October 19th 2011.

Known for his regular appearances on comedy panel shows such as Have I Got News for You, Would I Lie to You and I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue, Hawks is equally well-regarded among TV and radio audiences.

He is also the bestselling author of the quirky books Round Ireland with a Fridge and Playing the Moldovans at Tennis, with his show set to embrace the same sense of randomness and silliness.

Audiences have been promised a winning blend of anecdotes and songs as Hawks looks back on the oddest moments of his long and varied career.

The show will take place in the Theatre area of the Cumbria arts venue, which offers seating space for 260 audience members.

Doors will open at 19:45 BST and regular tickets are priced at £17.00, with concessions available.
