Industry: Travel

David Essex's hit musical All the Fun of the Fair is to be performed at the Edinburgh Playhouse in October 2011.

Having proven an acclaimed success on London's West End, the production is midway through a national tour and will visit Scotland's capital between October 4th and 8th.

The show was put together by Essex and Boogie Nights creator Jon Conway and stars the popular singer as Levi Lee, a recently widowed funfair owner coping with a rebellious teenage son and the affections of a gypsy fortune teller.

Audiences are promised a story filled with mysticism, danger, romance and heartbreak, set to music that include some of Essex's greatest hits, as well as several brand new tracks.

Nikolai Foster, the director for Aspects of Love, is responsible for directing All the Fun of the Fair, which also stars Louise English, David Burrows and Rob Compton.

The show's run at the Edinburgh Playhouse will include five evening performances at two matinees, with ticket prices starting at £24.25 for the night-time shows and £21.25 during the day.

Fans of the performer can browse a large selection of places to stay in Edinburgh at LateRooms.com, with the Albyn Townhouse among the choices on offer.
