LateRooms.com - Visit Devon for Two Moors Festival

Industry: Travel

Devon's Two Moors Festival will see top classical music talents play concerts across the county when it takes place midway through October.

The event was founded in the wake of the foot and mouth disease crisis that affected many parts of rural Britain and was designed to encourage people to return to the area.

Since then, an impressive selection of talented musicians have been invited to play at venues across Exmoor and Dartmoor, while a workshop programme also calls at local schools.

Last year, a Two Moors Festival garden designed by Christina Williams was created and went on to win a gold medal at the prestigious Chelsea Flower Show.

The 2011 edition is expected to attract concertgoers from the US, Canada and Europe when it takes place between Thursday October 13th and Saturday October 22nd.

St Andrew's Church in Ashburton is set to play host to the opening recital, featuring renditions of Variations on a Theme by Robert Schumann and Concerto in D minor by Johannes Brahms.

Tickets are individually priced for each performance, with admission to the opening show priced from £18 to £22.

Classical music lovers can use LateRooms.com to book rooms in Kingston House and a huge choice of other hotels in Devon.

Additional details on the festival can be tracked down at www.thetwomoorsfestival.co.uk.
