Critically acclaimed comedienne Sarah Millican is heading to Dublin in mid-October for a gig at the city's Vicar Street venue.

The stand-up rose to prominence after picking up the if.comedy award for best newcomer at the 2008 Edinburgh Fringe Festival and has since appeared as a panellist on shows such as Mock the Week and Have I Got News For You.

Having sold out all 120 dates on her debut tour, she is now performing at cities across the UK and Ireland on her run of Thoroughly Modern Millican gigs.

Audience members will get to hear the comic crack wise about a diverse range of topics, including how to construct a homemade treadmill and advice for people who like party food but dislike attending social events.

Millican is due to appear at Vicar Street on Sunday October 16th, with doors at the venue scheduled to open at 19:30 BST. Tickets are priced at €28 (£24).

Opened in 1998 and extended in 2002, Vicar Street has a seated capacity of 1,050. It is located on Thomas Street, just a short walk from Trinity College.
