Smash hit musical Wicked is set to open at Singapore's Marina Bay Sands Grand Theater at the start of December.

The production, which tells the story of the witches of Oz before Dorothy's arrival, will run at the venue from Wednesday December 7th to Sunday January 29th.

One of the witches was born with emerald skin and is smart and feisty but misunderstood, while the other is popular, beautiful and ambitious.

By watching the production, audiences will discover how the pair's friendship developed and how they became known as Glinda the Great and the Wicked Witch of the West.

Wicked first opened on Broadway, where it won widespread critical acclaim. Since then, it has gone on to receive 35 major awards, including a Grammy, three Tony Awards and six Helpmann Awards.

Evening performances take place at 19:30 local time, while matinees will be held on selected dates at 13:30.

Ticket prices start at S$55 (£27) plus booking fees and run to S$250 for the Emerald package, which includes a seat, a drink and a special gift. Four-person VIP boxes are available for a total of S$1,000.
