US indie pop band The Drums are set to kick off their European tour with a show in Barcelona next month.

The gig at Sala Razzmatazz on Wednesday November 11th will see the Brooklyn-based group play songs from their second album Portamento, which was released in September.

Having recently expanded their line-up to include an extra member for live performances, The Drums should be an exciting proposition for music fans in the Catalan capital.

The band only burst on to the scene at the tail end of 2009 with single Let's Go Surfing, but quickly justified the hype with the success of their EP Summertime! and self-titled debut LP.

Releasing the follow-up Portamento just over one year later, the group have been lauded as one of the most exciting guitar bands of recent times and continue to gain new fans around the world.

Tickets for their Barcelona performance can be purchased online, priced at €23 (£20) plus booking fee. Doors at the venue are due to open at 20:30 local time.
