Experimental music fans will be heading to Birmingham later
this month to enjoy the 2011 Supersonic Festival.
Between Friday October 21st and Sunday October 23rd, bands such as Turbonegro, ENVY,
Drum Eyes and Wolves in the Throne Room will provide a weekend of eclectic
entertainment at the city's Custard Factory.
Alongside musical performances ranging from dubstep to free jazz and doom metal,
there will be screenings of music documentaries and a Q&A session with William
Bennett from west African-inspired industrial act Cut Hands.
Art exhibitions from Conny Prantera and Herman Inclusus will also be on site during
the festival, while the Birmingham Zine Fest is collaborating with Supersonic for
the first time.
People can get involved themselves by taking part in the several workshops on offer,
which include a tutorial on how to build your own DIY electronic synth instrument
and a chance to make your own film.
In a statement, the organisers said the festival enjoys "a worldwide reputation for
being one of the most exciting events for experimental music, gathering audiences
from all corners of the UK and further afield".
Weekend tickets are priced at £75 plus booking fee, while day tickets range from £20
to £35.
For people planning to visit hotels in Birmingham for the event, LateRooms.com offers affordable accommodation such as The Railway Guest House.
