Singapore's Philatelic Museum is set to stage The Adventures of Tintin Exhibition, celebrating the work of creator Herge and the influences behind the hugely popular comic strip series.

Opening at the venue on Saturday November 5th 2011, the installation features the full range of postage stamps based on the exploits of the famous boy reporter issued in Belgium, France and the Netherlands.

The Museum Voor Communicatie in the Netherlands and L'Adresse Musee de La Poste in France have contributed colour trials, rarely seen original stamp artwork and other philatelic materials to the exhibition, which runs until Thursday May 31st 2012.

Among the highlights is a Belgian stamp released in 1979 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Tintin, featuring the eponymous star and his faithful dog Snowy.

Tresnawati Prihadi, general manager of Singapore Philatelic Museum, said: "This exhibition allows us to explore successful comics such as Tintin and its creator Herge, and promotes the appreciation and understanding of comic art."

Officially opened in 1995, the venue is housed in a century-old colonial building at the junction of Coleman Street and Armenian Street.

Admission to the exhibition costs S$5 (£2.46) and opening hours are from 09:00 to 19:00 local time every day, except on Mondays when the museum opens at 13:00.

Tintin fans will find AsiaRooms.com offers a huge choice of Singapore hotels, including The Fragrance Hotel.
