The Paris Boat Show returns to the city in early December to showcase the latest innovations in the world of sailing.

With approximately 1,400 boats on display and 1,200 exhibitors taking part, the event looks set to attract nautical experts and sailing enthusiasts from far and wide.

Vessels of all shapes and sizes can be seen at the show, which is due to run at Porte de Versailles from Saturday December 3rd to Sunday December 11th this year.

A highly popular feature of last year's event, the stand-up paddle surfing race down the Seine, will be revived for 2011.

On the morning of Sunday December 4th, spectators will gather to see 100 competitors race from east to west down the French capital's famous river on stand-up paddleboards.

Standard entry to the boat show is priced at €15 (£12.80), with a reduced fee of €8 applicable to those who arrive in a group of ten people or more.

The exhibition centre will be open every day from 10:00 to 19:00 local time. Friday December 9th will feature a special late-night session, with the show staying open until 22:00.
