Intrepid travellers planning their next big trip will get plenty of inspiration at the Telegraph Adventure Travel Show, held at the Olympia Exhibition Centre on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th January 2012. Describing itself as, “The UK's only event dedicated to discovering the world off the beaten track”, the show provides everyone from gap year students to polar explorers with useful advice from industry experts. Those coming to London to see the show can choose from a comprehensive list of cheap hotels in London provided by the website LondonTown.com who offer great deals on London hotels.

Explorer Doug Scott CBE, best known for being the first British climber to summit Everest in 1975, and Frozen Planet cameraman Doug Allan, who will be signing his new book ‘Freeze Frame', will be among the panel of Daily Telegraph editors and writers giving free talks on their area of expertise. And each talk will be followed by a short Q&A.

The show features six theatres providing tales and information from a number of travel experts, writers and tour leaders. Topics in the Incredible Journeys Theatre, for example, vary from foodie adventures with Rough Guide journalist Frances Gordon to Summer Along the Silk Road, a talk by Wild Frontiers' Jonny Bealby and Marc Leaderman, offering an insight into the unique cultures that have survived and flourished for thousands of years in one of the most remote corners of the world.

Whatever your idea of travel adventure, you'll find plenty of useful information at The Telegraph Adventure Travel Show where the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) and adventure logistic specialists, Tour de Force, will be handing out advice on everything from walking across continents to driving through remote parts of the world, whether it's to raise money for charity or simply for fun.

There will also be travel photography and travel writing seminars to teach you how to blog and record your trips in style and how to turn your travel experiences into articles. If you are travelling to the show from outside London the website LondonTown.com can help you book accommodation in London close to the Olympia Exhibition Centre, as well as providing you with a directory of nearby restaurants, bars and cafés.

LondonTown readers can also gain discounted tickets to this event; to receive advance tickets for only £7 simply quote LONDONTOWN when booking online at www.adventureshow.com or by phone on 0871 230 7159. Please note: calls to the Ticket Hotline cost 10p per minute plus network extras.
