Music fans who want to see Tinie Tempah, Leona Lewis, Will.i.am, Florence & The Machine, and Lana Del Rey play live can book accommodation for the festival on LondonTown.com where a wide selection of London hotels is available to suit all budgets and requirements. With free tickets to the festival you can afford to splash out on a hotel and make a weekend of it.

Jessie J, Ed Sheeran, Dappy, Professor Green, Swedish House Mafia, and David Guetta, are also among the 25 acts which have been confirmed to perform across five stages at the free music events at Hackney Marshes, East London , 23rd & 24th June 2012, a month before the Olympics begin. More musicians are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

There are two stages to registering. Firstly, users need to go to the Radio 1 website, where they will be asked to enter their details and upload a photo. Those who register will then be able to apply for up to two tickets online or by phone on the 25th and 26th March.

Tickets to the event are free (with a £2.50 handling fee), but demand will be high and luck will play a part if you're successful in securing a place. Hackney residents and those who live in the other five Olympic boroughs will have a better chance of getting a ticket with more allocated for applicants in the region.

Ambassadors for the event include Leona Lewis who grew up in Hackney, Radio 1/1Xtra DJ Trevor Nelson MBE and World and European Triple Jump Champion Phillips Idowu, who were both born in Hackney, along with East London 's award winning artist and actor Plan B.
