Participation Builds on Bechtel's Partnership with Nonprofit

RESTON, VA, -- /EPR NETWORK/ -- Bechtel executive Brian Reilly has joined the Corporate Leadership Council of Engineers Without Borders(EWB)-USA. The Council's purpose is to promote the benefits of supporting EWB-USA, advise EWB-USA's Board of Directors, and offer strategic input on issues of importance to EWB-USA.

I'm excited about this group and the opportunity to help advance EWB's good work, said Brian Reilly, Bechtel senior vice president and manager of operations for the company's nuclear power business. Many Bechtel employees are enthusiastically volunteering to help design and implement EWB projects, and they're gaining deep satisfaction from applying their skills and directing their passion in the service of those in need.

Bechtel has partnered with EWB around the world to support the group's mission: to sustainably deliver small-scale engineering projects that improve the quality of life in the world's poorest communities. In addition to the company's financial support, Bechtel employee volunteers are partnering with various EWB organizations around the world including the United States, India, the United Kingdom, and Gabon.

EWB-USA is moving forward into our next decade by working with corporate sponsors to ensure that EWB-USA remains an investment-grade organization, said EWB-USA Executive Director Cathy Leslie. Our Corporate Leadership Council is critical to this effort, and I'm very pleased that Brian has joined the group.

Reilly earned a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from Rutgers University and is a registered professional engineer in the state of Virginia. He is chairman of the Nuclear Energy Institute Suppliers Advisory Committee and is a member of the Rutgers School of Engineering Industry Advisory Board.

Bechtel's support of EWB is part of the company's initiative to foster science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM)-related learning and improve the quality of life for people through the company's engineering and construction skills. In addition to EWB, the company supports with volunteers and grants, Engineers Week®, FIRST® Robotics, Junior Achievement®, and Ocean Exploration Trust.
