Annual Oncology Conference Takes Place November 29 in Toronto; Oncology Healthcare Practitioners Around the World Convene for the Latest Developments in Cancer Treatment

Toronto, ON., -- /EPR NETWORK/ -- OncologyEducation.com, the everyday resource for physician-authored oncology education, will host the 3rd Annual Best of Oncology East Conference on November 29th, 2013 at the Westin Prince Hotel in Toronto.

The 3rd Annual Best of Oncology East Conference is a day-long meeting that will educate oncology professionals on advances in cancer treatment. Meeting objectives include:

  1. To discuss the pivotal oncology trials and research presented in the different disease sites
  2. To review the current standard of care for key malignancies
  3. To discuss the current controversies in the management of specific cancers

The conference will be co-chaired by Sunil Verma BSc, MD, MEd, FRCP(C) and Scott Berry, BSc, MD, MHSc, FRCP(C), Medical Directors of OncologyEducation.com; and Robert El-Maraghi, BSc, MD, FRCPC and Dorothy Lo, BSc , MD, MHA, FRCP(C), Co-Chairs for the Community Oncologists of Metropolitan Toronto (COMET) Education Committee. Dr. Verma is an associate professor at the University of Toronto and the Chair of breast medical oncology at the Sunnybrook Odette Cancer Centre. Dr. Scott Berry is a medical oncologist at Sunnybrook Odette Cancer Centre and an associate professor at the University of Toronto. Dr. Robert El-Maraghi is a medical oncologist at the Simcoe Muskoka Regional Cancer Centre and a c linical lecturer at the University of Toronto. Dr. Dorothy Lo is a medical oncologist at St. Joseph's Health Centre and the Secretary for the Hematology/Oncology Section of the Ontario Medical Association (OMA).

Throughout the past year, the oncology field has seen a tremendous number of advances in cancer research, said Dr. Verma. The Best of Oncology events bring together these essential developments through cutting-edge scientific presentations focused on cancer research, treatment and care, specifically grouped by disease site for the most comprehensive presentation of educational material.
