Andy Hobsbawm wins the Special Lifetime Achievement Award at the inaugural Imperatives

Press Release Summary = The UK's digital business sector celebrated in style last night as the first annual Imperatives Digital Awards was held at a glamorous West End nightclub in London.

Press Release Body = Heralding the new resurgence of the digital media and marketing industry in the UK, The Imperatives played host to over 500 of the UK's top digital professionals.

In a totally new format, esteemed judges created a shortlist from the several hundred submitted entries. That shortlist was then put to an online vote which began at midnight Tuesday 22nd February and finished at midnight Wednesday March 23rd 2005.

Yesterday at Cafe de Paris in London the winners were honoured in a huge party, hosted by digital industry veteran and stand-up comedian, Robert Hamilton.

Winning the Special Lifetime Achievement award was Andy Hobsbawm, chairman of Agency.com, and early player in the digital media industry in the UK.

A founding director of leading British new media company Online Magic which merged with Agency.com in 1997, Hobsbawm opened Online Magic¹s New York office in 1994, establishing the first international Internet production and services operation. A weekly columnist about the new economy for the Financial Times and named one of the Top 50 Internet Professionals in the UK, under Agency.com last year he published ³10 Years On: The State of the Internet a decade after Mosaic².
