Mumbai, June 09, 2014 -- /EPR NETWORK/ -- Nahar Group, a leading Mumbai-based real estate developer, launches its maiden global educational institution – Nahar International School – inside its sprawling 125-acre township Nahar Amrit Shakti at Chandivali in Andheri East.

The school has been set up with an objective to offer world-class education facilities for the children of the residents of the township and also the neighbouring areas. The school will accommodate 24 students per class between playgroup level and class VI and provide personalised attention.

The school is affiliated to Cambridge Board and will follow (CIE) curriculum, an international body. The emphasis will be on experiential and collaborative learning. Admissions have begun for the new academic year, which commences in June, 2014.

Nahar International School is committed to the development of young minds into knowledgeable, confident, successful and responsible global citizens. Through the use of modern teaching methods, state-of-the-art facilities and top class faculty, the school aims to create an environment that promotes creativity, education and individual excellence through self-discovery.

The school believes that ‘Each and every child is a star’ with infinite potential. Its efforts will therefore be to accurately access this potential, identify each child’s strengths and help them to be the best they can be.

Mr. Sukhraj Nahar, Chairman, Nahar Group, said, “The Nahar International School has decided to adopt the experiential learning philosophy and methodology in which educators purposefully engage with students. I am confident that our teachers will help foster knowledge, develop skills and impart values to the young students.”

The Nahar International School with a modern global outlook will simultaneously aim to inculcate Indian values and ethics among students that would enable them to face the world better, he added.

Teachers at Nahar International School will employ a variety of teaching strategies in the classroom and would be trained to listen to the voice of the learner and bring out the best in each child. They will also actively engage them in interactions. The teaching will be more practically oriented rather than plain theory.

This process helps to develop independent learners as they start to model themselves along the teacher’s approach. Nahar’s educators will challenge the learners’ thinking and support them to learn and finally accomplish tasks independently. Its teaching methods will facilitate students to become independent and collaborative critical thinkers. Periodic workshops will also be held for parents to better integrate into the child’s learning process.

Nahar International School is the brain child of Ms. Manju Yagnik, Vice-Chairperson, Nahar Group.

According to Ms Yagnik, understanding the current system and plugging the gaps between what is and what is actually needed to prepare our children for the future played an essential role. “Mapping the expectations of today’s educated and evolved parents and surpassing them on every parameter was the challenge more so because the goal was not to establish just another school. This not only meant diligence at every vital node and detailing at every step but also envisioning life a decade from today,” said Ms. Yagnik.

Understanding and addressing parents concerns on safety and security, the school will offer a one of a kind high security environment based on Radio Frequency IDs. GPS equipped buses would pick and drop students from doorsteps till inside the school premises and parents would be auto-updated over their cell phones. Apart from first aid, the school will have dedicated medical services to ensure the well being of children. Moreover, the school will have a spacious cafeteria giving an opportunity for the children to enjoy lunch breaks with social interactions.

The school will also organise cultural exchange programmes for its students. There will be emphasis on academics, art, drama, music, sports and community service. World-class sporting facilities for both indoor and outdoor sports with well-trained coaches and support staff will help students pursue sporting ambitions.

Nahar International School is an eight-storey structure with two basements and a ground floor. The building is 94,000 sq. ft, and has an auditorium of 6,500 sq. ft. with an impressive glass facade. The school is furnished and equipped with smart boards in every classroom, modern workshops, German-design science labs, iMac computer studios, a vast digitized library, spacious conference rooms, an audio-visual room and a turf-base playground.
