Freilassing, Germany, September 21, 2015 -- /EPR NETWORK/ -- Under the slogan "Immerse yourself in the world of ROBEL" the company's customers and business partners had the opportunity to experience the company up close from 15th to 17th September 2015. Over 500 visitors discovered the ROBEL think tank on the company's manufacturing site in Freilassing (Germany), which covers an area of more than 38,000 m2. ROBEL's Managing Director, Dipl.-Ing. Wolfgang R. Fally, was very pleased about the huge number of visitors: "The In-House Exhibition is a unique opportunity for us to present the people and services behind our products to our customers."

Apart from product quality, short delivery times in particular are a high-ranking factor for ROBEL customers as downtimes cost money. "Not only do we continually optimise our assembly procedures and processes but we also invest in building projects. With the new frame construction hall and paintshop centre, both of which were opened in 2015, our manufacturing quality is state-of-the-art", explained Managing Director Dr. Daniel J. Siedl, ROBEL's philosophy and also gave an insight into the leading edge manufacturing processes and plant.

Handguided Machines and Equipment: new products and ROBEL "classics"

In addition to ROBEL's core programme, the manufacturer of rail construction machinery presented new products and new product versions at the In-House Exhibition, e.g. the 13.44R Rail Head Grinding Machine for machining insulated joints and build-up welded running surfaces true-to-form and line. ROBEL now supports individual working methods by offering the options of left- or right-hand side handle position. Apart from improvements in ergonomics, the company's new product developments also focus on the economically efficient use of machines.
Public pressure to reduce noise and pollutant emissions in track construction is ever increasing - ROBEL stays abreast of this trend with the further development of its Modular Battery Powered Technology and the 62.05 Vertical Tamper series.

The 12.20 Battery Powered Rail Band Saw and the 73.20 Battery Powered Site Illumination are notable additions to the company's Modular Battery Powered series. An environmentally friendly battery version has also found its way into the 62.05 Vertical Tamper series. Thanks to their emission-free and quiet operation these products are ideally suited for track maintenance work in tunnels, underground and in urban environments. The immediate availability of the machines when charged and the simple replacement of the modular batteries add yet more benefits for the customer.
A hydraulically operated version of the Vertical Tamper for the correction of track level errors was designed to be used in the Mobile Maintenance System MMS. Thanks to the hydraulic drive the vibration tamper works without any direct exhaust emissions and with considerably lower noise emissions for the operator.

Work Vehicles and Special Units: proven and tested vehicles on the track

Away from worksite operation, the ROBEL In-House Exhibition offered an ideal opportunity for visitors to gain a comprehensive overview of the ROBEL work vehicles and special units in one place.

The many different Mobile Maintenance Systems on show attracted a high number of visitors. Exhibits from Austria, Germany and the UK were an impressive demonstration of a vision which realises safe, ergonomic and economically efficient working on the track. The second out of a total eight Mobile Maintenance Systems (MMS) for the British customer Network Rail showed amongst other things how efficiently ROBEL handguided machines and equipment that have been tailored to the specific customer requirements can be used in this standalone system.
On the subject of "laying sleepers" ROBEL introduced the PA 1-20 ES Sleeper Laying Unit (Gantry Unit) at work. Furthermore, the trade visitors could see for themselves how the 40.44 Rail Loader and the 40.61/63 Rail Train make the critical process of rail manipulation efficient, safe and easily controlled. The material-friendly as well as precise and reproducible working methods with these products avoid costly rectification work on the track and loss of quality of the rail.

Wide range of services: ROBEL is more than just a manufacturer

In addition to products being innovative, their reliable availability is one of the most important criteria for an economically efficient operation of rail construction machines and equipment. As a reliable service partner ROBEL offers revisions, re-certification inspections, repairs and a fast supply of spare parts over the whole life cycle of a product. The new service film, which was launched at the start of the In-House Exhibition and can be seen on www.robel.tv, shows the comprehensive range of ROBEL's service offerings. Furthermore, a selection of assembly stations demonstrated the professional execution of reconditioning power and idler axles and whole bogies at the company premises.
