Boca Raton, Fl, November 3, 2015 -- /EPR NETWORK/ -- Alex Watson is a high school student. His father is celebrated historian Robert Watson, Ph.D, together they have collaborated on The Crossing their new book and the first book in the Time Zones series.

When Alex Watson was 14 and told his dad celebrated historian Robert Watson,Ph.D. that he had a great idea for a book Dr Watson was intrigued—the story Alex imagined was about a teenager who time travels with his scientist grandfather to assist George Washington and help him win the revolutionary war. The result is The Crossing, the first book in the TimeZone series and a grand adventure that is not only entertaining but with the help of Alex’s father factually and historically correct.

According to Alex “I have always been fascinated by history, but I knew that other kids my age might not have the same interest level that I do, so I thought why not make history relevant? Thats when I started to imagine Chase Maxwell, the hero of The Crossing. Chase is just a typical kid doing normal kid things until he time travels to the 1700s and uses his unique perspective to tweak history.”

The Crossing is an ingenious look at the past re-imagined and jam packed with surprises at every turn. The Crossing is also the first book in the TimeZone series and
book two The Discovery, about the Lewis and Clark expedition, is planned for spring 2016.

While The Crossing is the first book in the TimeZone series, this is not the first time that the father and son duo has co-authored a book together, their first novel Tsunami was published in 2012 and in 2013 they sponsored a writing contest for kids called Let’s Write Together. “Writing books and working with my son Alex has been one of the greatest joys of my life” asserts Dr Watson, “ What we have done in the series is created present day characters and paired them with historical figures to make them both authentic and significant to young adults today.”

The Crossing has a curriculum guide available for schools, which will assist teachers with learning objectives, discussion questions, a timeline and helpful links. The guide can be obtained by contacting the publisher TriMark Press.

The adventure begins with The Crossing and the Time Zone series begs the question: Where will Chase Maxwell and his grandfather end up next and how will they shape American history?

Even though the book is listed as a YA Novel, it is sure to quickly become a favorite with adult readers who love a great historical novel. It is available at Amazon, Barnes and Noble and TriMark Press.
