July 17, 2012, 8:06 am -- /EPR NETWORK/ -- The Rodgers & Hammerstein musical, Carousel, is making a dramatic return to the London stage, twenty years since it was last performed in the city.
The classic musical is widely-regarded as one of the all time greats of American theatre. Launched as a Broadway stage musical in 1945 (the writing duo's second, after Oklahoma!), Carousel was popularized as a movie in 1956. The soundtrack went on to become a best-seller, and countless productions all over the world have kept the songs alive ever since. The carnival-based romance is famous for evergreen standards such as You'll Never Walk Alone'.
The show will run at the Barbican Theatre from 15th August until 15th September, with tickets ranging from £12.50-£75. Tickets and further information are available from LondonTown.com, who are also offering significant discounts on hotels in London for the duration of the run – many of them within walking distance from the Barbican Centre.
