Major tourist attraction kicks off on August 3rd, with discounted London hotels nearby announced by LondonTown.com

-- /EPR NETWORK/ -- One of the highlights of the season in London is the annual Summer Opening tour at Buckingham Palace , which grants public access to nineteen State Rooms usually used by the Royal Family to host ceremonial events.

From August 3 rd until September 29th, ardent Royalists, casual observers and fervent Republicans alike can, for the princely sum of £19, capture a glimpse of life inside the upper echelons of monarchy. The state rooms open to the public don't disappoint, with lavish furnishings from the French and English schools, and works by Rembrandt and Rubens, among others, on display.

Admission includes an audio tour and a Garden Highlights Tour, which takes groups of fifteen or more through the exquisitely landscaped botanical highlights of the iconic royal residence.

Marginally more modest accommodation is available via website LondonTown.com, which has announced details of discounted room rates at a number of nearby London hotels. The Rubens at the Palace Hotel, located a few minutes' walk from Buckingham Palace, is offering double rooms from £169 per night – a 51% reduction on the standard rate.

The 41 Hotel London is offering double rooms from £299, a 24% discount on the usual rate. Considered the tenth best hotel in Europe by the New Yorker, it's as close as most people will get to living like a king during their stay in the capital. The 41 is just a few minutes' walk from Buckingham Palace.

Just as close is the Crowne Plaza , which is offering 69% off standard rooms. The discount brings the rate down to £138 per night. All the featured London hotels are available at the reduced rates exclusively through LondonTown.com. Visit the site for further information. http://www.londontown.com/
